Libro: PALACE OF JUSTICE

We  wished to propose you an unconventional book or, at least, we imagined and devised it for this purpose. It is not the usual legal text which we were used to write. We did not certainly approach this work spurred by the desire to deal with Art, but rather, to objectively illustrate it in its adamantine beauty.

We do not want to discuss on architectural style; we simply gaze at the sublime works, their history and meaning full of admiration.
Let’s slow down our pace and clear our mind for a few moments from the worries of our profession.
Let’s walk along the corridors, enter the courtrooms for a few seconds and breathe the air of the Palazzaccio. Let’s witness to the work taking place there and, by unconditional reflex, turn our attention to the Masters of law from whom all this emanates.

Let’s remember the great jurists of the past sculptured in the statues adorning this Palace, an imperishable memory of their indelible trait impressed on the history of culture, law, jurisprudence, and especially on legal thinking.
We prefer not to go further, in order not to burden the readers with our considerations about the reasons behind the publication of this work. The readers will find out them by themselves, the day they will have the chance to enter the “Palazzaccio”.

We wish to leave them free to wander, with the only company of  the basic information of these pages as a proper support  for a cultural journey, in such a meaningful, symbolic and majestic Palace for the law and the civil society. We are sure that by walking in the silence, in the  beauty, in the past, will spring a new awareness  of the present which will lead to a more conscious future illuminated by the grandeur of the past.
